![]() Again, ymmv, but I say leave your LO in the Snoo or what we did during one of the sleep regression periods was stay up with baby with activities till LO was too exhausted to care about the Snoo and baby slept like hibernating bears do. But if your baby will learn to tune it out, they’ll be much better off for it, at least that’s my theory. So the motion and noise during sleep regression will more than likely exacerbate the situation. It does help that we kept the Snoo in his room and let it act like the world’s most expensive white noise machine.Įdit: I think it’s important to note why babies go through sleep regression: they’re becoming more aware of the world around them and they’re not able to filter it out just yet. No real transition just slept like he’d been sleeping there this whole time. My month 6 he was ready to transition and it was super smooth. When our kid started fight the arms, we just took one out and let him be. Learn all you need so you and baby can thrive during this time. Regression will hit regardless in Snoo or crib, but is always temporary. The infamous 4-month sleep regression is here, and you have no idea how to deal with it. We just powered through in the Snoo but YMMV. He wasn’t doing that with the shush/pat stuff I did prior. Once a baby reaches 4 months of age, you could also choose one of the common sleep training methods to help teach your baby independent sleep. I guess I had never given him the opportunity to self soothe since I always swooped in to help. He only cried for like 5 min then either fell asleep or needed a check in the passed out a few minutes later. Turns out to be informed what it is is better for your health than not knowing. This will help you get through this challenging time. Keep your good sleep habits of a darkened room, safe sleep space, and consistent routine. ![]() These can include the shush-pat method, white noise, and swaddling. And then I dreaded and dreaded and dreaded it. The 4 month sleep regression is a time when a baby’s sleep cycle changes. ![]() Took like two days and now he sleeps great. I never heard of sleep recessions til a dear friend warned me: beware the 4month sleep regression. This time we did cry it out with check ins. During those first 4-5 days after the switch he needed a shush/pat to calm him and sometimes needed that in the middle of the night or a paci. We made sure prior to the transition to have a solid bedtime routine which is feed, bath, book, bed. Which is very calming and relaxing for babies. The rhythmical movement plus sound mimic a mother’s womb. Ok so long response but I think it will be helpful- Our Bub sleeps in a long sleeve onesie and a Halo sleep sack. The shush-pat method is when you lay your baby on his/her side and you rhythmically pat their bottom in an upward motion while simultaneously making a shushing sound.
